Dovo razors strops and accessories -
This straight razor was made by Joseph Elliot, Sheffield England. Exact year is unknown
but most likely between about 1880 – 1890. Specs are as follows -
Blade: 6/8 square point, a little narrower at the heel, ground to about Henckel scale 1 – full wedge. Evident hone wear that does include recent work and tends to look more pronounced due to the wedge blade profile. The blade is well polished with little sign of age beyond some surface scuffing. The edge measures just under 2.75" from point to heel and is in great shape.
Please note that this razor is supplied SHAVE-
Tang: No jimps (serrations) to top or underside of tang. Marked to one side with the words 'Joseph Elliot's best silver steel, Sheffield England' and the Elliot trademark Maltese Cross between mirrored 'C's'.
Scales: Slick black with rounded edge and in excellent condition. Two pins with metal scale spacer. Pins are good though blade is a little loose on its post but with no scale fouling on closure.
Box: Original hard black card 'coffin'-
