All razors for sale on this page are supplied shave-ready for use. What does that mean? Simply that the razor’s edge is ready - without stropping - to give you a shave right away. All razors are honed and stropped by myself. You will, of course, need to strop the razor before your next shave just as any other - I don’t claim to have put a ‘magic’ edge on them that is forever keen!

I have tried to choose a variety of models for this page at prices to suit everyone. Some will be fifty years old or less - some a hundred years old or more. All are described in full on their own details page - just click on the  relevant image below to go there.

Numbers of razors for sale on this page will vary due to availability of  stock - not all the razors I have are suitable for use in this way  so do call by regularly to see what’s new!

Although this razor bears no maker’s name, it really hardly matters. The 5/8 round point blade has a great edge but – just look at those mother-of-pearl scales!

From the firm of Wester Bros., this 9/16 square point ‘De-Fi’ razor is in excellent condition and would make a good starter razor!

Made by WAMS Germany C. 1920 – 1930, this unusual 11/16 round point ‘travelling’ razor is in overall extremely fine condition. A great piece!

Something unusual, this C. 1880 – 1890 ‘Bengall’ appears to have been made for the US importer W. Brokhahne (stamped it on the tang). Nice natural scales complete the overall desirability of what must be considered quite a rare piece.

Made C. 1920 – 1940, this 4/8 round point is from Lang Brothers of Solingen, Germany. A good detail razor or perfectly capable for full-face use.

Now in stock in very limited numbers -  the so-called ‘Plastic’ Wapi - plastic of course referring to the scales! Why not take a look?

This razor, newly-rescaled in African Violetwood, was made by the Solingen firm of Giesen & Forsthoff probably between 1930 – 1940. A great addition to any rotation!

Made C. 1890 – 1900, this 5/8 round point razor from H&C, Germany, has very fine, slim scales in natural material and is in extremely fine overall condition

This heavy-bladed 6/8 full wedge razor from George Butler of Sheffield is a ‘Yorkshire Bite’ model and was made C.1870 – 1880, featuring some nice blade engraving. In overall excellent condition!

This 3/8 square point was made in Germany for the van Camp Co. of Indianapolis, USA c. 1920 – 1940. In excellent condition it would make a good daily razor or styling piece.

“One of a kind” razors

Something new for us here at the Edge are our “one of a kind” razors. These razors are re-scaled pieces, usually quite old wedge blades though they can be hollow grinds also. The difference between these and 'ordinary' rescaled razors that use 'stock' scales is that the scales for our “one of a kind” razors are all individually custom-fitted and hand-made for that particular razor in a variety of materials - they are, in fact, unique.

Availability is governed by the blades that we acquire and so cannot be forecast - do bookmark this page as new stock will be added as it is finished.

If you have a favourite razor that needs overhaul, or you just want some custom scales fitted, we are now undertaking this kind of work. Or maybe you have picked up that monster Wade & Butcher at the flea fair - but it’s seen better days and needs TLC? This 5/8 dreadnought point was made around 1890 – 1895 by the Sheffield firm of A. J. Jordan. Refitted with custom-made Lignum Vitae scales, it’s a very nicely understated piece.

This 5/8 spike point from Crandall Cutlery Co. was made between 1903 – 1912 and has been re-fitted with these custom hand-made scales in Kingwood. Very smart indeed!

This Wade & Butcher 5/8 square point was made C. 1910 – 1920 and is in overall extremely fine condition. An ideal first razor and would suit anyone with heavier beard growth due to its near-wedge blade profile.

This 13/16 round point carries a good edge and was made C. 1911 – 1921 by the Yorkshire Steel Company, though ground in Sheffield. It would make an ideal first razor!

Newly rescaled in Olive Wood, this blade is from Fram of Germany. Thought to be C.1920 – 1940, it would make an excellent first razor.

This 5/8 Kropp was Sheffield-made in C 1920 – 1930 and is in extremely fine overall condition. A perfect starter razor or a great addition to any daily rotation!
