A good strop is essential for maintaining the shaving edge of a straight razor. Dovo have a wide range of strops and three - including our best-seller -  are offered for sale below. Another vital shaving item if you wish to follow the traditional path to wet shaving is the shaving brush.  New for 2010 is our very own ‘Invisible Edge’ brand Pure Badger brush with 22 mm knot size and white composite ivory coloured handle  (this brush is now included in all our shaving kits).

All brushes featured below are very durable and should give many years service, with attractive handles in a variety of materials and fills including pure bristle, pure badger and silver-tip badger.

And don’t forget the soap! We are delighted to be able to now offer premium shaving cream, shave oil and post-shave cream from ‘American Crew®’, a world-wide brand leader in men’s toiletries and also mentholated cream from the well-known ‘Kent’ range. Pashana 'American' Bay rum originates from the West Indies. Traditionally uses aromatic oil distilled from Bay leaves soaked in rum or pure bay oil, mixed with rum.

We can now offer our own-brand basic hanging strops, both without (standard) or with (standard plus) cotton canvas backing. These are ideal for beginners and have been on trial with us for a couple of months and proved excellent is use - and of course excellent value for money. The standard model is now included in our starter kits, enabling us to lower the price without sacrificing quality. Both strops approx. 19” x 2”, usable ‘bed’ area of approx 13”.

All our shave-ready razors are supplied with a box - if not the original or a period box, then one identical to the picture to the left. Made of sturdy plastic, it will accept most normal-sized straight razors up to 6/8 and quite a few 7/8 as well, depending on scale thickness. So - if you have any unboxed razors, here’s a great way to keep them safe! Approx. INTERNAL dimensions 162 x 26 x 12 mm.
