I have two Azuma ichogake kamisori as shown in the images. Made from yasuki (yasugi) steel, the Azuma razors are of very good quality, fairly similar to Tosuke. These Azuma ichogake kamisori are not new. They have original rubberised handles and apart from a light clean-up are in original condition, bearing commensurate marks etc.
The razors are in the regular ‘ichogake’ size with an edge length of approximately 43m. Overall length of the razor is some 150 mm.
These razors are manufactured using a combination of softer (Jigane) and harder (Hagane) steels, with the harder steel forming the edge. The specific steel used is unknown.
These Azuma kamisori are of very good quality steel and represent an affordable and attractive introduction to the world of Japanese razors.
