Description
Before the Tour de France could establish itself as the most important cycling race in the world, men still competed on two wheels over rough cobblestones, dusty gravel roads and torturous climbs. Bicycles with a heavy steel frame and only one gear, heavy wool jerseys, and only gear were the norm for the relentless 250 km of the classic one-day races. The first of these traditional one-day classics originated in Belgium and France before 1900 and brought fame and honour to the winners.
Boker aims to commemorate these epic men and their not inconsiderable feats by re-issuing the “Boker Bicycle Race” as a new version of a razor of the same name that appeared around 1900. The blade of this special model, which is limited to 300 pieces worldwide, shows a classic bicycle race in a picturesque landscape. The elaborately restored motif, laser-cut in several layers, fills almost the entire blade, while the historic H. Boker & Co logo adorns the blade’s edge.
The 5/8 satin finished blade made of carbon steel, has a plain spine and jimping to the lower tang and a spanish point. The scales are made of black composite which has been given a contemporary twist with nickel silver studs. Supplied in a retro styled cardboard box. Handmade in the Boker Knife Manufactory in Solingen.
This razor is produced in a limited edition run of 300 and we have numbers 87 and 88 and the numbers are etched on the reverse of the tang.
Boker describe this as a Spanish point, I would call it square.
SHAVE READY – Unlike some retailers, our razors are not supplied as they come from the factory. We individually prepare all the razors we sell. For full details see our policy.
