Description
This Ralf Aust razor has a 6/8 stainless steel satin finished blade with a round point and lovely African blackwood scales. It has the usual “Ralf Aust Solingen” mark on the tang and the “Solingen Handarbeit” – handmade in Solingen – mark on the blade. This latest batch of razors have different tang markings to identify that the razor is made from stainless steel than that shown in the photograph. These are more in keeping with the style of the razor. What makes this razor stand out, however, are the scales which are made of African blackwood. Not only does this wood look superb, varying in colour from dark red to almost black, it is robust and has water repellent properties which means that the scales will retain their appeal. Colouring is a like a cross between cocobolo and ebony.
The razor has jimping to both the lower and upper tang. All Ralf Aust razors have a full hollow ground blade.
