Description
This TI 5/8 Medaille D’or Peacock Razor is a modern take on a vintage style razor. It has ivory coloured moulded composite scales with a painted peacock covering the length. Unusually this design appears on both sides of the scales. We have sold razors with moulded scales before but these have been vintage razors dating from the early 20th Century.
This highly decorative TI 5/8 Medaille D’Or peacock razor has a 5/8 carbon, hollowed, round point blade with the “Medaille D’Or Alger” mark in black with gold detailing. It has jimping to the lower tang and a plain spine. The “Medaille D’Or Algier” mark is now owned by Thiers Issard. In 1924 Pierre and Louis Thiers exhibited their razors in Algiers and were awarded a gold medal for excellence. The Medaille D’or mark celebrated this achievement.
