Description
This Ralf Aust razor has a 6/8 carbon satin finished blade with a round point and beautiful snakewood scales. It has the usual “Ralf Aust Solingen” mark on the tang and the “Solingen Handarbeit” – handmade in Solingen – mark on the blade. The choice of snakewood scales is an option we have elsewhere on the site, but is new to our Ralf Aust range. It has a slightly mottled effect and certainly makes for a striking looking razor, especially with the contemporary styling of the scales. As snakewood is a natural material the colouring and grain will vary from one razor to another. The spine has a flower pattern laser etched onto both sides – again this is something different and new to our Ralf Aust range. The razor has jimping to the upper tang. All Ralf Aust razors have a full hollow ground blade.
This razor has two small imperfections in the satin finish on the front of the blade under the word “Handarbeit”. These can be seen in the photographs. These are merely cosmetic imperfections in the finish and do not affect the integrity of the blade itself. We do not however consider ourselves able to sell this razor at full price so we have reduced the price accordingly.
