Description
This razor and the one described at IE280027(1) are something new from the Ralf Aust workshop. Although ground by Mr Aust and using newly made and stunning contemporary scales, they are from blanks dating from the 1950’s. This razor is from a Hugo Köller blank which has some pitting on stamped face of the tang.
It has jimping to the lower and upper tang, a plain spine and a square point.
The scales are made from zebra wood. This is a form of heartwood, sometimes called Zebrano and is light brown or cream color with dark blackish brown streaks vaguely resembling a zebra’s stripes. It is a dense hardwood commonly used as a veneer but here it is used with stunning effect together with contemporary styling to elevate this razor to something very special.
SHAVE READY – Unlike some retailers, our razors are not supplied as they come from the factory. We individually prepare all the razors we sell. For full details see our policy.
