Ford & Medley dealt in mass market table cutlery, electro plate and razors in the early 1900's. The company was owned by Albert Medley and originally operated from premises in Arundel Street Sheffield, but by the end of the First World War the company had moved to Eyre Street. This razor was advertised as being made from the Eyre Street factory and so dates from a period between 1918 and 1930, when Ford & Medley ceased trading. It is described as being hollow ground and was made in two sizes, 3/8 and 6/8 - this being the 6/8 version - with either black bakelite handles or at extra cost white xylonite handles. Unfortunately the original bakelite handles were beyond repair and have been replaced with Dovo acrylic scales which have a stabilising pin. Other razors being manufactured at the same time were the "Arrow", the "Select" and the "Challenge" although the "333" was the most expensive of the range.
