Vintage Friedrich Baurmann & Sohne Monopol Razor

This razor has a 6/8 round point satin finished blade which given it's age is in remarkably good condition. The blade and tang are pretty much free from any historical pitting or corrosion marks. The tang has jimping to the lower side and has the "Monopol" brand mark on one side and the maker's mark and logo on the other. The scales are made from white composite inlaid with the word "Solingen". Again they are in very good condition. Supplied in an original plastic wallet bearing the words " Monopol Solingen Germany" in gold.

This razor was made by the well known company of Friedrich Baurmann & Sohne who first started producing razors in a factory in Solingen in 1880, where they still operate today. The " Monopol " brand, one of many they produced, was first manufactured in 1894 and production continued until about 1940.

This razor has a 6/8 round point satin finished blade which given it's age is in remarkably good condition. It is hard to believe that this razor is around 100 years old. The blade and tang are pretty much free from any historical pitting or corrosion marks. The tang has jimping to the lower side and has the " Monopol " brand mark on one side and the makers mark and logo on the other. The scales are made from white composite and have the word " Solingen" in a metal inlay on them. Again they are in very good condition. Supplied in an original plastic wallet bearing the words " Monopol Solingen Germany" in gold.
