Description
This Ralf Aust razor has a 6/8 satin finished blade with a square point, classic style zebra wood scales and a plain spine. It has the usual “Ralf Aust Solingen” mark on the tang and the “Solingen Handarbeit” – handmade in Solingen – mark on the blade.
Zebra wood is a form of heartwood, sometimes called Zebrano and is light brown or cream color with dark blackish brown streaks vaguely resembling a zebra’s stripes. It is a dense hardwood commonly used as a veneer but here it is used to stunning effect. The plainness of the razor leaving the scales to speak for themselves.
All Ralf Aust razors have a full hollow ground blade.
