New to our range of Ralf Aust razors this 7/8 version has a carbon steel satin finished blade and stylish contemporary African Blackwood scales. It has the usual “Ralf Aust Solingen” mark on the tang and the “Solingen Handarbeit” – handmade in Solingen – mark on the blade.
This razor is for a more experienced straight razor user looking for a large razor with some weight to it.
The blade has a form of Spanish point to it, but almost a wave shape rather than a crescent. African blackwood scales vary in colour from dark red to almost black and are a like a cross between cocobolo and ebony. This type of wood a good choice as it is robust and has water repellent properties which means that the scales will retain their appeal. The contemporary styling of the scales together with the beautiful graining of the wood make this a stunning razor. The spine has a flower pattern laser etched on to the top – something we have added to some razors which make up our expanded Ralf Aust range. The tang has jimping to the upper and lower sides. All Ralf Aust razors have a full hollow ground blade.
