6/8 Razors

Here you will find a wide range of 6/8 straight razors (or cut-throat razors). The term 6/8 refers to the depth of the blade being the measurement in fractions of an inch from the spine to the cutting edge. Again there is a wide variety to choose from. We have a selection of different blade and spine decorations. These include a number of luxury razors from Thiers Issard which have hand-chiselled or filed spines. These add weight to the razor and are probably left to the more experienced wet shaver. There are also razors from Thiers Issard which are forged using historic spine designs. We also have a wide variety of handle matierals. Again these range from those made from plastic to the more exotic horn and bone. There are a number of razors from Ralf Aust which have more contemporary style scales if you are looking for something different.  There is also a newish selection from Boker. These have stunning Abalone scales made from sea shells set into acrylic. We also sell 6/8 razors which have blades made from Damascus steel. Each Damascus razor is unique and has its own character borne from its distinctive Damascus patterning produced when the blade is forged from 2 similar hardened carbon steels, namely XC 130 and XC 100 rather than the usual C135 steel. These razors are certainly something special !
