Description
This Black Shadow Natural Stone is a form of sedimentary slate, a finishing stone approximately in the 8k to 10k range. Softer than its sister La Lune, the stone is a great finisher for both beginners and those more experienced in honing. The stone requires a slurry produced with a bout included with the stone. These vary in size and appearance. A water based slurry produces an excellent result though oil (glycerine or mineral oil) can be used if preferred.
Black Shadow is quarried near the French/Belgian border, and comes from 1Stone, the folks who have also revived the La Lune.
The stone itself has been highly polished and is ready to use. A great introduction to natural stone honing.
