Description
This Ralf Aust razor has a 6/8 carbon steel satin finish blade with jimping to the upper tang. It has the “Ralf Aust Solingen” marking to the tang as well as the marking “Solinger Handarbeit” – handmade in Solingen – to the front of the blade. The blade is described as having a French crown, or French point in my terminology, albeit the convex curve is at a steeper angle than the French points found on the Thiers Issard blades. This razor is almost identical to IE280002, but this version has a plain (but angled not round) spine. The scales are of horn and the variance in the colouring of horn makes each razor unique. The photographs here are of the actual razor we have for sale. All Ralf Aust razors have a full hollow ground blade.
