Due to the continuing popularity of our Saponificio Varesino range we decide to add to it with this new shaving soap variant. It has proved to be a good choice and is our new favourite. It contains Opuntia Ficus-Indica or extract of Prickly Pear to you and me, hence the name O Puntia. For those of you of a certain age its fragrance is reminiscent of Kouros by Yves Saint Laurent, a wonderful mix of fruity top notes with woody, musky and slightly amber base notes together with floral scents of birch rose and jasmine.
The soap should be used with a good quality shave brush. For best results cover the top of the soap with a small amount of hot water for a few minutes. In the meantime soak your brush in warm water and rinse well. Pour the water that was previously on the soap onto the brush and then lather up the brush from the tin without adding any more water. Do this for 20 to 30 seconds before applying the resulting lather on to your face.
The prickly pear extract contains in the soap creates a protective film over your face and that together with the various oils it contains, including macadamia, grape seed and sweet almond as well as shea butter produce a luxuriously moisturising lather to give a fabulous shave.
This soap is handmade in Italy using only vegetable oils, 50% of which is coconut oil. No palm oil is used to manufacture any Saponificio Varesino soap nor are their products tested on animals.
