Description
According to AI, the markings on this kamisori identify it as Inoue Tosuke, on which I have fitted a new grip as the original had disintegrated. The other kanji apparently say “High Class, Specially Made, Special Selection”.
The razor is a regular ‘ichogake’ size with an edge length of approximately 44mm. Overall length of the razor is some 150 mm.
These razors are manufactured using a combination of softer (Jigane) and harder (Hagane) steels, with the harder steel forming the edge.
For reasons unknown, this razor has clearly had some “work” on one face where some of the steel has been ground out. It’s not the prettiest look, hence the price.
A great opportunity to purchase a good quality Japanese razor at a cheap price.
