Description
This stunning razor from Ralf Aust razor has a 6/8 carbon steel satin finish blade with jimping to the upper tang. It has the “Ralf Aust Solingen” marking to the tang as well as the marking “Solinger Handarbeit – handmade in Solingen – to the front of the blade. The blade is described as having a French crown, or French point in my terminology, albeit the convex curve is at a steeper angle than the French points found on the Thiers Issard blades. It has an attractive laser etched pattern on both sides of the geometric spine and unusual contemporary ebony scales which are inlaid with two sterling silver bands on either side. This may be our most expensive Ralf Aust razor to date but not without very good reason.
